Visiting the Falcon Festival in Malko Kadievo Village
08/08/2017
In the end of last week, the “Lesser Kestrel Recovery” LIFE11 BAT/BG/360 project team visited the Falcon Festival in Malko Kadievo village, Stara Zagora municipality.

The cause for the visit was the end of the field season for the “Saker Falcon Returning to Bulgaria”. Carried out by Green Balkans.

We familiarized all the inhabitants and guests of the festival with the action for the Lesser Kestrels, and the main event was the pilot release of over 40 birds from the species from the Wildlife Centre, situated only a few kilometers from the village. We showed the people how these small falcons look like, hoping to get feedback if someone sees one of the birds in the area.
