The first part of this publication provides volunteers, students and trainees at the Green Balkans Wildlife Rescue Center with basic information about the natural habitats, food, behavior and conservation status of the most common birds in the Center. The aim of the team working on the publication is to present in an accessible way information that would be useful during an internship, practice or volunteer work at the Center, as well as when finding a distressed wild animal. The second part is a "Handbook of first aid for endangered wildlife". It summarizes the experience of the Rescue Center, a leading unit in the treatment and rehabilitation of endangered wildlife in Bulgaria. And since birds are the most affected by human activity, special attention is paid to them in this guide. The information in it should again serve trainees, students and volunteers of the Rescue Center, but also employees of institutions directly related to the rescue of wild animals, such as the MoEW, RIEW, RFS, EFA and others.
