Green Balkans - guests of Malko Kadievo village's holiday

The team and volunteers of the Green Balkans Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Center were guests of the holiday in the village of Malko Kadievo.

Along with us, there were the Saker falcons Romeo, the Common kestrel Vladko, the Common buzzard Misho, the Tawny owl Chara and the Little owl Blaga. All guests and residents of the village, participants in the holiday, could pet the wild animals, and learn more about their lives.

Our traditional presence at this important event for the local community is a consequence of our long-term partnership with local authorities, farmers, and breeders in the activities of Green Balkans within the 'Reintroduction of the Saker Falcon in Bulgaria' project.

Traditionally, the closing of the official part of the event was the release of birds that underwent a course of treatment at the Rescue Center. In this case, these were three Common kestrels who flew away by the hands of guests of the event.

The 'Reintroduction of the Saker Falcon in Bulgaria' project is funded by Mohamed Bin Zayed Raptor Conservation Fund and Armeec JSC.
