At the invitation of the organisers, the Green Balkans team working on LIFE for Falcons project took part in the event to introduce the attendees to the achieved results and ongoing activities for the restoration of the Saker Falcon in Bulgaria.
Within the scope of LIFE for Falcons project, there are collaborations made with pigeon breeders to test and develop practical methods aimed at reducing losses of domestic pigeons caused by birds of prey. This collaborative approach is a crucial step toward finding sustainable solutions that respect the interests of pigeon fanciers while simultaneously protecting endangered wild species.
The participants at the event expressed their readiness to continue the dialogue and cooperation. Such meetings are of paramount importance for building mutual trust and working together for the benefit of both wildlife conservation and pigeon breeding in Bulgaria.
The LIFE for Falcons project (LIFE20 NAT/BG/001162) is implemented by Green Balkans as an associated beneficiary and is carried out with the financial support of the LIFE Programme of the European Union.
