The Natural History Museum, together with the Society of Animalists, Florists and Scientific Illustrators - DAFNI, as well as Green Balkans offer to the attention of museum visitors, the works from the artistic initiative that took place in September on the occasion of the European Green Belt Day 2022.

The event will take place on 25.10. (Tuesday) from 17:30 to 18:30 in the Exhibition Hall of the Regional Natural History Museum - Plovdiv. The illustrations of the Plein air artists will be presented by Mr Georgi Pchelarov, chairman of DAFNI and Denitsa Peneva - vice-chairman of the Society of Illustrators. The organizers remind us that from the beginning of this month, the Museum is also hosting another exhibition - "The Great Return" 2, produced again by DAFNI together with the Green Balkans.

In their works, the authors pay special attention to the Lesser Kestrel, a rare species of bird, for the restoration and strengthening of the population, Green Balkans implements the project "Life for Lesser Kestrel" LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017, under the LIFE Program of the EU.

Before it disappeared from Bulgaria as a breeding species in the last century, one of the last places where this rare species of falcon bred was the hills of the city of Plovdiv. In his story "Following the shadows of the Kerkenese", the Bulgarian naturalist Dimo Bozhkov describes the graceful Lesser kestrels in a particularly emotional way. Due to this fact, the organizers put both exhibitions precisely in the city under the hills.
