The Green Balkans team ended last week with another initiative under the "For a cleaner nature" project, funded by the "You and Lidl for a Better Life" program, in partnership with the "Workshop for Civic Initiatives" Foundation and the Bulgarian Donor Forum.
This time we were visiting the residents of Malko Kadievo, a village in Stara Zagora. There, through the gathered audience, we talked about wild animals and how mankind, with its activities, can harm them. The model of a stork's nest with waste in it made for the project helped us to visualize the problem.
Together with our team was the forest tawny owl Chara, a bird from the Rescue Center with permanent disabilities - an ambassador of nature protection and an invariable part of our visits.
After we talked with the guests of the event, the most awaited moment of our visit came - the release of kestrels raised at the Center. In it, with great enthusiasm, the youngest children joined, from whose hands the common kestrels took their first flight to freedom.
And finally, we all made bird feeders out of empty plastic bottles together, giving new life to human waste.
The activities are implemented under the project "For a cleaner nature - today, tomorrow and forever". The present project is implemented thanks to Lidl Bulgaria's largest socially responsible initiative "You and Lidl for a better life", in partnership with the "Workshop for Civic Initiatives" Foundation and the Bulgarian Donor Forum.
