Today our team took care of our feathered friends who found themselves with no food, as it was buried under the thick snow cover!
The activity is part of our work under the “Reintroduction of the Saker Falcon in Bulgaria” project and the territories we walked around are also the places of freeing the young Saker falcons hatched at The Centre of Green Balkans.
Helpers of our team in this winter adventure were veterinary medicine students from the Trakia University, as well as practitioners under the “Student practices – phase 2” project of the Ministry of Education and Science, funded by “Science and Education for Smart Growth” Operational Program, co-funded by the European Social Fund, thanks to whom we took out the grain and scattered it over meadows and forests.
This activity became a tradition for our team and every year, during the coldest days, we set on this adventure with the help of the wild birds.
The project “Reintroduction of the Saker Falcon in Bulgaria” is funded by Mohamed Bin Zayed Raptor Conservation Fund and JSC “Armeec”.
