Becoming an adoptive parent, you will give your personal contribution supporting our caretaking of the birds. The word "adoption" acquires a new meaning here. As you might guess, Lesser Kestrels are not suitable for pets, and this is not what we strive for ;)) Therefore, becoming an adoptive parent you will not have to take the Lesser Kestrel to your home, neither will you have to feed and raise it.

Since the birds are "imported" from Spain, when they are still “youngsters”, they need time to grow up and to acclimatize to our environment. In the meantime, Green Balkans’ experts take care of the chicks, providing specialized conditions and food. Like all animals, however, the Lesser Kestrels need daily attention - care, food, and water. Each bird needs fresh food every day - a mixture of meat from mice, rats, crickets, wax worms, vitamins (which are delivered to the Center in Levka). The pairs need their own nest boxes, daily monitoring and care, which means big financial costs ...

Adoption is, in fact, undertaking the financial support of a bird for a certain period of time. So, you only buy food and supplies needed for the birds, and our contribution is direct caretaking of the Lesser Kestrels.
