Representatives of the Green Balkans Rescue Center team were part of the sixteenth Annual Marine Mammal Necropsy Workshop by ACCOBAMS

A team of veterinarians from the Green Balkans Wildlife Rescue Center returned a few days ago fromMarine Mammal Necropsy Workshop.

The training took place at the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Liège, Belgium. Over three consecutive days, Green Balkans representatives, together with participants from Italy and Romania, went through practical and theoretical sessions led by Thierry Jauniaux, a university lecturer and a leading name in the field of cetacean pathology.

On the last day, the team gave us a detailed presentation of the cases they followed during the training, each of which was analyzed in detail by the attendees, including veterinary students from the university.

This is not the first time that a representative of Bulgaria has attended such events. Before us, both colleagues from the Green Balkans and a representative of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Trakia University, with whom we work closely, took part in ACCOBAMS workshops.

The workshop was useful and valuable for us as it gave us additional knowledge and skills that we hope will help us in future cetacean conservation activities in the Black Sea.
