Green Balkans’ Volunteers, Young and Old, Helping the Veterinarians

21.11.2017
Volunteers from the Thracian University and the Professional High Scholl for Veterinarian Medicine Stara Zagora came to the help of the veterinarians from the Green Balkans’ Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre.

This time around the young enthusiasts helped the doctors “in the field”, actively participating in the examination and removal of parasites of a herd of horses in Levka village, Svilengrad region, where the “Lesser Kestrel Recovery” LIFE11 NAT/BG/360 project had its actions carried out not so long ago.

After finishing their work with the horses, the group of present and future veterinarians, headed by the doctors of the Wildlife Centre, took part in the examination and removal of parasites off the sheep in the sheep pen neighbouring the Lesser Kestrel Release and Adaptation Module.

This way the young people had the opportunity to practise what they have learned in way of treatement and prophylactics of farm animals

This action was carried out thanks to the MNE’s “Students practices” project, and “Young, green, hopes” project financed by the Youth Bank.
