A few days ago a team of project "Reintroduction of the Lesser Kestrel", LIFE11 NAT/BG/36 participated in the LIFE 2019 Prize Ceremony.

The excellent results achieved during the project implementation were highly appreciated by the European Commission. Our project, which was funded by the Commission's LIFE Program, was nominated among just 5 finalists in the Nature category (the total nominated projects were 15 - five of each of the categories - Nature, Environment and Climate Action).

All 15 finalists from the three funding areas, European Commission officials, experts, journalists, as well as Angelo Salsi, LIFE Nature Director, Daniel Calledja Crespo - Director Environment Directorate and Mrs. Yvon Slingenberg Director of the Department Policies to the Climate Action Directorate of the European Commission were guests at the ceremony.

The award in our category went to the LIFE WOLFALPS project, which implements conservation activities for the protection of the wolf in the Alps, with the participation of organizations from Italy, France and Slovenia.

We recall that our project was also nominated for the LIFE Citizen's Prize 2019 - another great recognition for our work. We thank everyone who supported us, although the prize went to our colleagues from Cyprus and their LIFE + SMARTPV project.

HERE you can see a video with the presentation of all nominated projects broadcast during the ceremony.
