Monitoring along the Maritsa River Vol. 2.0

Monitoring along the Maritsa River Vol. 2.0

26.06.2019
After the very successful first monitoring along the Maritsa in May we planned a second one – The Maritsa river monitoring Vol. 2.0. – a short but informative walk along the river bank, between the Pedestrian bridge and the Gerdzhika bridge. We will tell all participants how rich the river wildlife is – with binoculars, fieldscope and bat detectors, and will talk about the Natura 2000 ecological network which includes the Maritsa river.

The ‘Natura 2000 in Bulgaria – New Horizons’ LIFE17 GIE/BG/371 project team will tell everyone about the species living in and around the river and will give information materials about our work.

Our partners in the initiative, RIEW Plovdiv will be joining us, Miloslava Mihailova, public relations expert will be at the event.

The date: 26.06.2019 (Wednesday)
The place: the south side of the Pedestrian bridge (next to Chichovtsi restaurant)
The time: 19:00h until 21:00h

We chose to start late because of the high temperatures, that animals dislike just as much as we do and hide during the hotter hours of the day. We also hope to hear some bats feeding around the river after the sun sets with our bat detector.

Everyone is welcome to join, but keep in mind that there will also be mosquitoes around the river bank, so better bring an insect repellent!
