The Griffon vultures at the Green Balkans' Wildlife rehabilitation and breeding center were given the chance to lay a second egg

The Griffon vultures at the Green Balkans' Wildlife rehabilitation and breeding center were given the chance to lay a second egg, after the first one, for which we are not certain if it is fertile or not was moved to the incubator.

Only ten days after the first egg was pulled out of the nestq the birds are already making attempts to nest again. Nest building has started and copulations are often.

We decided to take off the first egg, as it was laid pretty early than expected and copulations have not been observed. This methodology has already been proven successful with the first and only Griffon vulture ever hatched in the Center – Parvolet.

We set hopes that the double chance and the efforts of the birds will bring good results!
