Visiting the children at the ‘Aleko Konstantinov’ primary school, Plovdiv

09.04.2019
After the spring break was over, the ‘Natura 2000 in Bulgaria – New Horizons’ project team visited the 4th graders from the Ecology club and their teacher, Ms. Stoitsova, at the ‘Aleko Konstantinov’ primary school, Plovdiv.

We talked about rare and protected bird species in our country – the red-breasted goose, the sandwich tern, the lesser kestrel and about the four vulture species, that once lived in Bulgaria. The students were very well prepared and enthusiastic to learn more about our wildlife. We aso talked about the Natura 2000 ecological network in our country.

Our  new friends were very interested and asked many questions and Aneliya and Poli from the Green Balkans team were happy to answer all of them!

Next time we will tell the children more about bats in Bulgaria and their intriguing lives and the marine mammals in Black Sea!

Thank you, to all students and their teacher, Ms. Stoitsova, for welcoming us at your school and for the wonderful time!
