Implementation of Appropriate Assessment for Investment Projects, Plans and Programs under Article 6 of the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) On 9th and 10th of November in Sofia and 11th and 12th November in Varna, Green Balkans – Stara Zagora organized seminar on the theme: Implementation of Appropriate Assessment for Investment Projects, Plans and Programs under Article 6 of the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC).

The seminar is a part of the project: “Germany’s Experience in Implementing EU Legislation: Natura 2000 - Management and Financing”.

The project is being implemented by Green Balkans – Stara Zagora and I financed by Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of Germany through the Environment Agency (UBA). The scientific coordination of the project is being implemented by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN). In Bulgaria the administration of the project is being implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Waters(MOEW), National Service for Nature Protection, Department “NATURA 2000”.

In Sofia the seminar took place in Hotel Central Forum and in Varna in Hotel Aqua. More than 50 participants were trained in Sofia and more than 20 in Varna. The trainees were independent experts in AA and EIA, experts from the scientific community and NGOs working in the same area.

The lecturers were experts with long term experience in the implementation of the Habitats Directive. Their presentations gave answers to many important questions and specific situation in Bulgaria.
