The seminar is a part of the project: “Germany’s Experience in Implementing EU Legislation: Natura 2000 - Management and Financing”.
The project is being implemented by Green Balkans – Stara Zagora and I financed by Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of Germany through the Environment Agency (UBA). The scientific coordination of the project is being implemented by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN). In Bulgaria the administration of the project is being implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Waters(MOEW), National Service for Nature Protection, Department “NATURA 2000”.
The seminar took place on October 14-16th 2009 in the Accord hotel in Sofia. In the seminar participated more than 50 representatives of Ministry of Environment and Waters (MoEW), Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Executive Environmental Agency (EEA), Regional Inspectorates of Environment and Waters (RIEW), National Park Directorates, Nature Park Directorates, Scientific institutions, Environmental NGOs etc.
The lecturers were experts with great experience in applying the Habitat Directive. Their presentations were appropriate for the specific situation in Bulgaria, which was carefully analyzed by the Bulgarian experts.
