On Sunday, at an official ceremony, the finalists in the five categories - TV, radio, print media, online publication and blog in the "WILD CHESTNUT" National competition for GREEN journalism were awarded with the special “Wild chestnut” plaque.

The Pygmy Cormorant (Microcarbo pygmaeus) is listed as endangered in the Red Data Book of the Republic of Bulgaria, protected throughout the country (BDA) and protected by the ecological network NATURA 2000.

Recently, volunteers at the Green Balkans Wildlife Rescue Center have another means to complete their knowledge of wildlife treatment and breeding.

Today we announce the names of the journalists who were nominated in the last month and a half to participate in the National “Wild Chestnut” Competition for Green Journalism.

At the end of October, the Strandzha Nature Park directorate and “St.St. Cyril and Methodius 1985” Community Center - Meden Rudnik district, Burgas, conducted several information campaigns dedicated to the International Bat Night.

The event was organized by 10 students from 8th grade under the guidance of their teacher eng. Filip Ustabashiev and held on October 28.

We continue our “Month of..” campaign where we dedicate the whole month to an interesting species from the Bulgarian fauna. This time the "Natura 2000 in Bulgaria - New Horizons" project dedicates November to cetaceans.

The event was organized by the Regional History Museum – Blagoevgrad, in partnership with Green Balkans and the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation.

On Friday, despite the restrictive conditions, in Plovdiv the biggest bats fans attended our information campaign about the International Bat Night in the Tsar Simeon’s Garden.

We celebrated the International Bat Night in Pleven in the Month of bats.

For another year, Green Balkans, celebrated the International Bat Night together with Lovech Municipality. Young and old bat fans gathered in front of the "Nauka - 1870" Community Center in Lovech.

At 15th October the Green Balkans team visited our frineds at the “Sinite kamani” Nature Park Directorate in Sliven where we celebrated the International Bat Night.
