Every year on the 28th of November our colleagues at the Sinite kamani NPD celebrate one more year taking care of nature in the region.
We joined the 14th traditional census of wintering griffon vultures on the Balkan Peninsula, coordinated by the BSPB in partnership with Green Balkans, the FWFF, BPPS as well as nature conservation organizations from Greece, Serbia and Macedonia.
This November the Green Balkans team visited the ‘Esetra’ students club at the University of Plovdiv Faculty of biology for the second time.

Right before the autumn chill, we managed to organize one more bat afternoon and tell the kids in Zhitnitsa many interesting things about bats.
The team of the Green Balkans’ Wildlife rehabilitation and breeding center initiated the reintroduction of a species gone extinct from Bulgaria – the Saker falcon about ten years ago. The maintenance of a breeding colony is a process of establishing permanent relations between the individuals, which may take a long period of time and it requires taking into consideration of many important things.

On the 1st of November the Green Balkans team took part in a student scientific conference ‘Ecology - a way of thinking’, organized by the department of Ecology and environmental conservation, Faculty of Biology, ‘Paisii Hilendarski’ University of Plovdiv, the Student Council at the University of Plovdiv and the ‘Esetra’ Students club at the University of Plovdiv.
