Green Balkans participated in the Bulgarian Seed festival

On the 16-17.04.2022 was held the 8th edition of the Bulgarian Seed festival in Sevlievo, where the Green Balkans Staff took participation for yet another year, so we can introduce our work activities for the preservation of rare species in the country.

Week of the forest

After our team celebrated 21st March – the spring еquinox and also the World Forest Day, we decided to join the traditional Forest Week initiative from 4th – 10th April celebrated each year since 1925.

We celebrated Wetlands Day at the dam Rozov Kladenets dam

Green Balkans together with the Ecology Department of Radnevo Municipality celebrated the World Wetlands Day by conducting monitoring of Waterfowl birds at Rozov Kladenets dam. The lesson was attended by students from the Ecology Club from the Second Primary School "St. Paisii Hilendarski" with class teacher Daniela Kireva.

Green Balkans joins the celebration of the 30th birthday of Rila National Park

On 24 February 2022, Rila National Park celebrates its 30th birthday. The motto of the campaign is "30 years of Rila National Park - a challenge for future generations". Green Balkans has joined the events to celebrate the anniversary of the park by presenting the photo exhibition "Natura 2000 in Bulgaria" in the Information Centre - Panichishte.

Wetlands Day, Fieldwork and Pygmy Cormorant Observation in Plovdiv

This year Wetlands Day, the 2nd of February, was full of emotions for Green Balkans' team. Together with Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water – Plovdiv, Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds, Youth Centre – Plovdiv, and participants in the Young Explorer Program, inquisitive citizens we celebrated World Wetlands Day.
