We Celebrated the Black Sea Day Together with Students from Chernomorets

At the end of October Green Balkans’ team visited virtually the students from Christo Botev Primary School headed by their class tutor Elena Simova.

The little nature lovers established their eco-club. Anelia – an employee on “Natura 2000 in Bulgaria – New Horizons” project greeted them through a dolphins presentation on the occasion of the upcoming holiday of the Black Sea.

Preliminary we sent the students informational materials, and thank  Mrs. Simova they received hand-made badges with the logo of Green Balkans.
At the end of the lesson the students ran into the famous „echo” game, but this time the subject was the inhabitants of the Black Sea.

We would like to thank the management of Christo Botev Primary School and Mrs. Simova for the technical assistance!

Happy Celebration of the Black Sea Day to all the people who care about it!

Cetaceans in the Black Sea
In the Black Sea are met 3 kinds of cetaceans – Bottlenose Dolphin, Common Dolphin and Harbor Porpoises, endemic to our sea. Persecuted in the past, today is not much known about the state of the populations of the three species. The Bottlenose Dolphin and the Harbour Porpoise are subject to protection by Natura 2000 ecological network and special marine protected areas are declared for their protection.
