On the 5th July we visited our friends at the Rodina Library Children Department in Stara Zagora where we met children from 1st to 4th grades to talk about interesting rare species in Bulgaria. The event was part of the Magical Library – Summer 2022 initiative at the library carrying on from 13th June till 31st August, Mon-Fri from 10-12:30 AM.

We started off talking about nature in Bulgaria and our hidden nature treasures, the Natura 2000 network which protects them and focused on vultures – nature’s sanitarians, where we can meet them and what to do if we see one. Children were excited to see a real-life vulture model and enthusiastically answered our quiz. We finished off with an interactive puzzle game with interesting facts and stickers for the most enthusiastic listeners.

We also left some of our information boards about bats, vultures, cetaceans and falcons to the children at the library, along with our latest children books for all nature lovers – big and small.

We’d like to thank our friends at the Rodina Library Children Department for inviting us to join their wonderful summer initiative and all children who took part in our educational event.
