Every first Saturday of September we celebrate International Vulture Day. The campaign aims to raise awareness among the public about the issues and the need to protect them. Vultures have been revered by people since ancient times. Tireless attendants and loving parents, these heavenly masters have captivated the human consciousness for centuries, and today they are about to disappear from the face of the Earth.
On this day, we invite you to tell first-hand about our work over the years. With the help of scopes and binoculars, you will be able to observe Griffon and Cinereous vultures in the feeding area and those in the aviary.
On this day, we will also share the dream news - a few weeks ago, a new project was started, aiming to bring back the Bearded Vulture - the symbol of Bulgarian nature protection and to support the population of the already restored Cinereous Vulture in Bulgaria.
We are expecting visitors on 2nd September (Saturday) between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the approach to the aviary above the town of Sliven.
