Nine Cinereous Vultures were released and joined the wild population as part of the reintroduction project

In late April, nine Cinereous Vultures, donated from Spain were released. The released vultures, three males, and six females were hatched in the wild in Spain. Due to various reasons, such as dehydration or trauma, they had to be admitted to rescue centers, and after their rehabilitation, treatment, and recovery - the vultures were donated as part of the reintroduction of the species in Bulgaria.
Among the released birds are the ones named by donors:
- Galyo – named by Valentin Mihov;
- Gin – named by the coffee club “Abordage”, thanks to the funds raised in a specially organized donation campaign during a book market;
- Krushuna – named by Cornel Cotorogea (Romania);
If you would like to support our project and our efforts for the reintroduction of the Cinereous Vulture, you can do so through our campaign on the Platform.
